Post flood advice for Kruger Park travel plans

If you have booked travel plans to Kruger National Park for the coming weeks or months, there is a lot of uncertainty as to what will be open and accessible.
Based on our experience and recent history, we expect many roads in the park will still be inaccessible for months to come. On the larger essential axis, we expect bypasses to be built, like on the Lower Sabie to Skukuza Road where 3 short bypasses were still in use since the last floods in 2023.
Unless the camps have been severely damage, we expect most camps to be open and accessible even if using alternative routes. We expect an update as to the damage relatively soon, now that the rain has relented and water levels subsided. Based on the images we have seen the most extensive damage seems to have been in the north, especially Letaba Rest Camp and Shingwedzi Rest Camp.
If you have booked several rest camps, some may be inaccessible, but we expect SANParks will offer alternative accommodation in the park.
Whether you take the safer option and postpone, or are flexible and keep your travel plans is up to you.
